Position Description

Position/Level:  Systems Engineer / Senior
 
Location:  Chantilly, VA
 
Clearance:  TS/SCI Required
 
Essential Functions: 
  • Perform systems engineering, analysis and trade studies against needs, requirements, and issues to evaluate architectural components and mission impacts and needs, evaluate data throughput and communication needs and constraints, determine systems sizing and risks
  • Monitor milestones and prepare artifacts as necessary for delivery to government customer, ensuring constraints of cost, schedule, performance and customer transformation alignments are met
  • Possess knowledge of analysis techniques to effectively synthesize large amounts of data and to characterize both segment and system performance data across the enterprise and make recommendations for system improvements
  • Capture user requirements and determine engineering solutions that meet user needs with the best available NSG-compliant architecture solution
  • Possess ability to document current system components, TCPED CONOPs (work flow/system usage), volumetric data, operational capabilities, requirements, and mission impacts and needs; all of which can be used to develop an effective user CONOPS
  • Provide recommendations and findings that ensure that the enterprise will operate, transition, and transform in an efficient and effective manner
  • Possesses strong systems engineering and analysis background and customer interaction experience
  • Ability to facilitate and lead weekly review and status briefings to government customer
  • Candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to coordinate and network with existing activities within the agency and other contracts to take advantage of related efforts
  • Provide systems / enterprise level analyses and trade studies support against new requirements and the resolution of operational enterprise NSG issues
  • Provide quick-response study support to emerging enterprise needs and issues
  • Possess strong problem solving skills
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Function as a strong team player
  • Limited overnight travel will be required (<10 percent)
 
Job Qualifications: 
  • Experience in conducting trade studies and analysis of alternatives evaluations
  • Assess and recommend a path forward for ILS Voyager (i.e. future of Voyager after the move of the legacy system to the ITC). Need to document high level requirements and identify alternative library systems
  • The successful candidate will possess solid systems engineering / analysis skillsets and competencies
  • Ability to multi-taskwith a capacity to learn and work autonomously as part of a team
  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • A BS in engineering or a technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
 
Desired skills:
  • Knowledge of ILS Voyager
  • Knowledge of library management systems
  • Familiarity with hardcopy GEOINT data types and systems
  • Knowledge of the NSG and its systems / segments
  • Experience documenting NSG and Combatant Command GEOINT production environments
  • Familiarity with mission area functions and activities
  • Expertise in the geospatial-intelligence domain to include user mission and needs and the enterprise capabilities required to meet those needs
  • Project management skills
