Summary
The Senior Writer/Training Specialist will play a lead role in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of a framework for strengthening partnerships between ARRA-funded expansion Early Head Start (EHS) grantees and family child care providers, in efforts to support collaborative service delivery. This position will coordinate ongoing training and technical supports for the EHS FCC project team, as
well as a cohort of Child Care Partnership Coordinator Consultants (CCPCCs) responsible for providing direct support to the EHS/FCC teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

Assist in the development of project workplan;
-
Assist in the development of a framework to support project implementation;
-
Support development of stakeholder meetings;
-
Closely support development of EHS/FCC partnerships application and selection process;
-
Assist in the selection process of CCPC consultants that will be available to EHS programs as consultants in developing the EHS/CC partnerships;
-
Closely support the development of an in-person training for the CCPC consultants and the EHS/FCC teams;

Develop technical assistance resources to support the EHS/FCC partnership providers and the CCPC consultants by:
-
Researching and writing Tip Sheets focused on topics of relevance to the field;
-
Creating a brochure describing project goals and activities to disseminate to CCPC consultants and EHS/FCC teams;
-
Researching and writing at least one T/A paper focused on issues of relevance to the field
-
Contributing to the development of webinars to be archived and accessible for future use; and,
-
Conducting audio conferences aimed at creating learning experiences related to the provision of services in Family Child Care settings;

Lead and provide on-going support for and communication with a cohort of up to 6 CCPC consultants throughout the duration of the project, including conducting monthly conference calls; posting regular updates and queries on a listserv; and facilitating follow up discussions on topics addressed during audioconference calls and webinars, as well as support peer-to-peer technical assistance among assigned cohorts;

Assist in the establishment of expectations and criteria to guide the work of the CCPC consultants; and,

Establish on-going, one-on-one communication with CCPC including assistance in problem solving.
Skills and Experience -

Minimum of seven years of experience with proven leadership in the early childhood field, in particular with family child care;

In depth knowledge of Early Head Start Program Performance Standards, specifically those relating to Early Head Start, and family child care;

Strong knowledge of EHS technical assistance resources;
-
Strong knowledge of research and practices related to the growth and development of children ages birth to three years of age and to supportive services for pregnant women;
-
Strong knowledge and experience in national policy and research practices regarding pregnant women, infant and toddler child care programs, and Early Head Start;
-
Experience working with and supporting professionals from a variety of backgrounds (preferably with Early Head Start, Family Child Care and consultation);
-
Experience organizing, developing and providing training;
-
Strong capacity to lead small teams and support individuals in meeting timelines designated by contract specifications;

Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively;
-
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals representing a range of backgrounds and skill levels;

Ability to be flexible and adaptable to dynamic changes in the work environment;

Knowledge of the field of Early Childhood development, particularly services to infants and toddlers;

Strong oral, written and computer skills;

Strong leadership skills; and
-
Ability to travel.
