The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near-term need for Senior and Mid-level Data Analysts to support the Cyber Warfare Directorate within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Platform and Weapon Portfolio Management. This role is located at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

The Cyber Warfare Directorate provides cybersecurity and cyberspace operations expertise for the entirety of OUSD(A&S). The candidate will assist government personnel in the continued development and refinement of the Cyber Risk Management Tool (CRMT) in order to provide senior DoD leadership with quantitative data, visualization, and metrics-driven analytics to inform resourcing decisions. Will apply skills and experience with tools such as AIMSS, GAMS, OPL, R, VBA, SQL, JavaScript, Access, SharePoint, Tableau, and Adobe Flex4 to help provide the data-driven analysis to drive the modernization of critical DoD weapon systems and help close the cybersecurity vulnerabilities than may imperil our missions.

Qualifications

Required:

    7+ years of experience in Data Analytics
  • Bachelor's degree (required);
  • Experience with quantitative data analysis and in database back-end and tool integration
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the application of advanced analytic tools, to include: AIMSS, GAMS, OPL, R, VBA, SQL, JavaScript, Access, SharePoint, Tableau, and Adobe Flex4.
  • Experience conducting optimization problem formulation, metrics development, and tool development with data visualization functions
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings, information memorandum, and white papers.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Basic understanding of DoD Cybersecurity and Cyberspace Operations stakeholders
