GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT
The Student/ Intern Research Assistant will work with the PI and the team in efforts focused on pulmonary vascular disease. This work will
entail the collection and curation of medical imaging and clinical data as well as assisting in deploying machine learning
and deep learning algorithms for modeling. Model results will be used for disease detection, stratification, prognostication
and as intermediate study endpoints for observational and therapeutic trials. The research assistant will be responsible for
maintaining accurate and current records of all analyses performed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for performing experiments under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel.
2. Analyze data using advance computational methods.
3. Attends and participates in lab meetings, seminars and conferences.
4. All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with the creation and curation of a database, ability to work in a collaborative environment and motivation to
learn and understand the clinical relevance of data extracted from medical imaging.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Excellent oral and written communication skills
2. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
3. Careful attention to detail
4. Familiarity with basic statistical analyses.
5. Self-directed learning and ability to work independently
6. Basic computer skills including Word, Excel. Familiarity with python and R a plus.
