This is responsible municipal law enforcement work in the protection of the life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves responsibility for the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, apprehension of criminals and the enforcement of laws and ordinances in a designated area on an assigned shift.
Must be currently certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Service as a Law Enforcement Officer.

Career Development Program
The Leesburg Police Department offers a career development program. The purpose of the program is to recognize and compensate individuals who have acquired additional or advance work related knowledge, skills and abilities during their career with the Leesburg Police Department. This program provides a career development plan based on an employee's performance, training, and length of service.
