The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership organizat ion that represents t he interests of t he more than 100, 000 Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, and law students in the United States and its territories. From the days of its founding three decades ago, the HNBA has acted as a force for positive change within the legal profession. It does so by encouraging Latino students to choose a career in the law and by prompting their advancement within the profession once they graduate and start practicing. Through a combination of issue advocacy, programmatic activities, networking events and educational conferences, the HNBA has helped generations of lawyers succeed. Our organization is stronger today than at any point in its history and is as committed as ever to its mission.
The Mission of the Hispanic National Bar Association • To serve as the national voice for the concerns and opinions of Hispanics in the community generally, and in the legal profession in particular. • To promote the recruitment and retention of Hispanics in law schools and provide them with financial assistance. • To develop mechanisms to facilitate the exchange of information among Hispanics involved in all segments of the legal profession. • To conduct conventions and seminars in order to provide continuing legal education for attorneys and foster the exchange of ideas and information among its members. • To provide testimony before Congress, state legislatures and executive agencies on issues of concern to Hispanics. • To work with other bar associations, governmental agencies and community groups to achieve greater involvement in and understanding of the American legal system by the national Hispanic community. |
